The background of this man is not known at present.

William Kennedy enlisted in the North Irish Horse at Omagh, County Tyrone, on 23 April 1918 (Corps of Hussars No.72080). He was described as being 5' 7" tall, and stated that he was 18 years old, was born in Shankill, Belfast, and worked as a farm labourer.
